How Chiropractic Care Can Keep You Headache Free


Many people suffer from headaches and migraines, but often they do not take the time to find the cause of their discomfort. A few common types of headaches are tension, cluster, sinus, and migraines. We will discuss how to prepare and handle a headache.


It is very common that the headache you are experiencing is a tension headache. These types of headaches affect many people throughout their lifetime. Usually tension headaches are just uncomfortable. They don’t tend to hold anyone back due to the lack of balance, vision, or any normal everyday activity.  

What causes tension headaches has yet to be discovered. However, it is suggested that a balanced diet, getting the recommended amount of sleep (about 7-8 hours), lowered stress, and good posture, could help you fight back your tension headaches.  If they are persistent, you can opt to have a spinal alignment. This will release muscle tension and help alleviate your tension headache.


Another common type is called a cluster headache. They are very similar to tension headaches but are shorter and usually chronic. They can affect you multiple times, weekly or even daily. Sometimes they are misdiagnosed as a symptom of allergies due to their seasonal nature in some people.

The cause for cluster headaches is still debatable, however, they can be linked to nerve pain. Chiropractic care for nerve pain could help with your cluster headaches. Proper spinal alignment in the area near the trigeminal nerve can help.

Sinus Headache

Sinus headaches usually come when you experience nasal congestion. This may be caused by an infection or allergies. The pressure in your sinuses can cause a headache to develop. Some treatments for this are nasal decongestants, antihistamines, or even antibiotics.


Migraines are very painful and can cause an array of different symptoms. You may experience, vision loss, vomiting, pain in temples, sensitivity to light, and debilitating to you. You can try to prevent them like tension headaches. A good diet, plenty of sleep, lack of stress, and decrease muscle tension can help keep migraines at bay. A spinal adjustment can help with muscle tension to prevent a migraine from happening.
